We had a highly interesting visit from Joseph Michael last week. He is a photographer who has worked in the film industry as well as producing an array of award winning photos. His latest project and the one he shared with us was to do with his trip to Antarctica to film the life and sounds of icebergs. He then superimposed his footage onto the Auckland war memorial Museum. The exhibition is called Antarctica - While you were sleeping. It was great to see our children so intrigued and asking so many questions.
We were very lucky to have a visit from the New Zealand Play House drama group. They have been travelling the country presenting their show Puss in Boots, Pet Detective. It was a highly entertaining show that the kids really enjoyed.
Our Rippa Rugby kids have been training really hard over the last few week. It was all worth it when we went over the hill to Frankton to a Queenstown catchment Rippa Rugby tournament. Both teams represented our school with class and pride. We lost one game each in pool play to finish second in the pool respectively. It was great to see how much improvement we had made since last year and I can't wait to see what sort of talent we can find for next year's tournament. A big thanks to all the parents that helped out, we couldn't have had the fun we did without you!
