CURRICULUM COMMENTWhat's Been HappeningWOW! What an awesome turn out to our family science night last Wednesday. There was not a car park to be had, as I found out when I arrived at our Upper Clutha Board of Trustees cluster meeting at 6.45pm, and not one square inch of space in pod 7. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. We are delighted with the response.
Well done also to the PTA for the fabulous Mothers' Day Movie night, I had a glass of wine, some yummy nibbles and even managed a tear or two during the movies. Thanks to the 70 mums who supported this evening.
The Upper CLutha Board of Trustees cluster held a combined training session for the trustees of our local Upper Clutha primary schools and MAC around health and safety, led by Kevin Haskins whose business is Health and Safety training. Our Upper Clutha boards will continue working together around the Health and Safety topic.
Wana Be a Star heats are well underway and what a variety of acts. I have seen - pianists, singers, dancers, magicians and lots of other art forms. The big finals are on next Friday 26th May.
Everyone is welcome to come along to our Friday assembly which is beginning at the earlier time of 2pm to fit in all the certificates and acknowledgements this week. Pod 4 will be sharing a showcase of their learning.
Staff Professional LearningCurrently staff are busy with our workshops and webinars around our targeted areas NPDL (New Pedagogies for Deep Learning), PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning), Health and Writing which continues as our curriculum target for 2017. We have staff attending a PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) workshop this week, all staff are attending workshop 2 of a series of managing behaviour in the school led by Mel and Lisa (GSE - Group Special Education and RTLB - Resource Teacher of Learning & Behaviour), with the last of these planned for next week. Our lead teams for NPDL, PB4L and H&S are meeting every 3-4 weeks either face to face or via webinar with the facilitators. WOW... looking back at what I have written, you can tell education loves its acronyms!
